If you are up for the challenge, we have the blinkie for you - the 4x4x4 RGB Cube!
Watch as colors wash from side to side, corner to corner, up/down, fading in and fading out. 64 RGB LEDs, each individually firing to create the ultimate in mesmerizing patterns. Although designed to be easy to build, it is the equivalent of building four regular blinkie kits.
We created our 1st cube kit in 2014 after seeing a number of 3D LED cubes on the internet. We felt we could do better! The existing designs appeared quite unforgiving, and we wanted to create one that mere mortals could build. We noticed with a simple design change with the driver chips we could double the LEDs and make a tower!
We pushed the PIC18F25K50 to its limit in 2014, we now shift to a 32bit CPU module with a wifi radio, opening up a list of improvements for the 2021 version. Say hello to an IOT tower.
